Label Change Process
ATLAS will integrate and standardize label production practices nationwide
for users of PASSPORT, ODLS, and on-demand MPE machine-side systems
so that labels are produced the same way at all USPS facilities. While
ATLAS will not change Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at USPS,
it is extremely important that the SOPs are followed.
All Postal facilities currently produce 10-digit labels. EDL will replace
the current 10-digit barcode with a unique, more readable 24-digit barcode.
