Transitional 10- and 24-Digit Label
The transitional 10- and 24-digit labels are to be used during the brief transition
period while all facilities are being upgraded to ATLAS. Since facilities will
transition at different times, these enhanced labels are to be used when the
production and receiving facilities do not support the same kind of label. For
example, if the Fairfax facility has fully transitioned to 24-digit labels and
the Newark facility has not, this enhanced label can be read by scanners at
both locations until Newark makes the transition.
Some of the human-readable information is actually smaller than on the new 10-digit label. This change is temporary and resulted from a lack of space on this transitional label.
